🌿 PART 2 — When Quiet Feels Uncomfortable

Finding peace in the quiet

Blog Series – Part 2

Sometimes the stillness feels louder than noise, but that’s exactly where clarity begins.

Finding peace in silence sounds cute until you’re actually sitting there, alone with your thoughts, wondering why the calm suddenly feels like a full‑blown interrogation.

There’s a special kind of hush nobody warns you about. Not the peaceful, spa‑music kind. Not the “I’m journaling and drinking tea like a soft‑life influencer” kind. I’m talking about the uncomfortable version—the one that sneaks up on you when you’re trying to be spiritually mature, but your mind is acting like it just drank three Red Bulls.

🌿 Finding Calm in Quiet Moments

In the stillness, you suddenly hear everything—your heartbeat, your breathing, your refrigerator, your neighbor’s refrigerator, your thoughts… even your thoughts’ thoughts.

And instead of feeling calm, you’re sitting there like, “Why does this silence feel like it’s judging me?”

🌱 The Quiet That Makes You Confront Yourself

There’s a moment in every spiritual journey where God stops talking loudly and starts whispering. And listen… I love a whisper from God, but sometimes it feels like He’s whispering from another room.

You sit there trying to be deep, trying to be present, trying to be one of those people who says things like, “I’m learning to sit with myself.”

But the truth is, sitting with yourself is cute until your brain starts replaying every embarrassing moment since 2003.

Before you know it, the quiet isn’t peaceful—it's a full documentary of your life choices.

😂 The Comedy of Being Human

Let’s be honest: quiet exposes how dramatic we really are.

One minute you’re breathing deeply, feeling connected, feeling grounded… The next minute you’re convinced the universe is sending you a message because your left knee tingled.

Stillness will have you diagnosing yourself, overthinking your purpose, and questioning whether you’re supposed to be doing something “more meaningful”—all before breakfast.

And the funniest part? Most of the discomfort isn’t spiritual. It’s just us… being human.

We’re not used to stillness. We’re used to noise, distraction, scrolling, multitasking, and pretending we’re fine.

There’s a point where stillness becomes a teacher. Quiet removes all that. And suddenly, the silence says, “Nope. Sit down. Let’s talk.”

The Spiritual Truth Hidden Inside the Awkwardness

Here’s the part I didn’t expect: The uncomfortable quiet is actually the doorway to the peaceful quiet. YES! I found peace in the quiet, and YOU can too!

It was a transition. A detox. It was the moment when my mind tried to fight the stillness because it didn't know how to exist without chaos.

But I stayed—even when it felt weird, even when my thoughts were loud, even when I felt like I was failing at being calm—something shifted.

My nervous system settled. My thoughts softened. My spirit opened. My awareness expanded.

And suddenly the quiet that felt uncomfortable became the quiet that feels like home.

I LOVE IT!

🌸 What I’m Learning

Quiet can feel uncomfortable at first. And yet, it’s often the first sign that something inside you is shifting.

But that discomfort is part of the healing.

Your mind begins to unclench. It’s your spirit clearing space. It’s your body remembering what safety feels like.

And when you push through the awkward part, you find a version of yourself that’s calmer, clearer, and more connected than you’ve ever been.

💬 Reflection Prompt

Next time the quiet feels uncomfortable, ask yourself:

“Is this discomfort a sign something’s wrong… or a sign something is finally settling?”

You’ll be surprised how often it’s the second one.

🌿 Coming Up Next — Part 3

When Quiet Finally Feels Like Peace (and how to stay there without sabotaging it)

There’s a moment in every quiet journey when the discomfort finally softens—when the silence that once felt heavy suddenly feels like home. Part 3 is all about that shift. The moment peace stops feeling like something you have to chase and starts becoming something you can actually hold. And more importantly… how to stay there without talking yourself out of it, running from it, or sabotaging it the second it feels too good.

Thank you for spending part of your quiet with me today. I don’t take your time lightly. If anything in this post touched you, grounded you, or helped you breathe a little deeper, then this work is doing exactly what it’s meant to do.
