ARE YOU DOING WHAT YOU LOVE?

ARE YOU DOING WHAT YOU LOVE? (THE UNIVERSE SAID, “BABY… BE SERIOUS.")

Every now and then, the Universe — God, Spirit, your ancestors, or that one angel who’s been assigned to your case since birth and is now on their third celestial cup of coffee — leans in and asks:

“Sweetheart… are you doing what you love?” — not what’s convenient, not what’s expected, but what actually lights you up.

I don’t know about you, but every time I hear that question, I suddenly become very interested in reorganizing my pantry, alphabetizing my spices, or contemplating why I own 14 notebooks and still write everything on the back of receipts.

Because the truth is uncomfortable.

Signs You’re Not Doing What You Love

Sometimes the answer is, "No, but I am doing what I tolerate.”

Or: “No, but I’m doing what I’m used to.”

Or my personal favorite: “No, but I’m doing what won’t cause a family meeting.”

But Spirit doesn’t ask this question to shame you. Spirit asks because your soul is whispering, “Hey… remember me? I have dreams too.”

And your humor—your joy—your weird little passions? Those are divine breadcrumbs. They’re not random. They’re guidance.

Doing What You Love Changes Everything

Doing what you love is spiritual work. It’s alignment. It’s obedience to the part of you that God handcrafted with intention and personality and a dash of “make them laugh even when life is ghetto.”

But let’s be honest: Doing what you love is also hilarious.

Because the moment you decide to follow your joy, life will test you like it’s the season finale of your personal sitcom.

You say, “I’m going to write more!” Suddenly your laptop updates for 47 minutes.

You say, “I’m going to start my business!” Your printer jams, your Wi-Fi quits, and your cat sits on your paperwork like a furry little hater.

You say, “I’m going to choose peace!” Someone cuts you off in traffic, and peace packs its bags.

But here’s the spiritual joke: Every obstacle is actually a nudge. A reminder. A cosmic wink.

Because when you’re doing what you love, the Universe rearranges itself — slowly, awkwardly, sometimes with the vibe of a Wi‑Fi signal that only works when you don’t need it — but it does rearrange.

Your life expands. Your energy expands. Your confidence expands. Your sense of “Oh… THIS is who I really am” expands.

And the angels? They start clapping like you finally understood the assignment.

So ask yourself — lovingly, humorously, spiritually:

Am I doing what I love? And if not… What’s one tiny, hilarious step you can take today?

Because your joy is not frivolous. Your joy is not extra. Your joy is not a luxury.

Your joy is divine. And it’s waiting for you.
